Young AFP Leaders Apprised on the Government's Efforts to Maintain Peace Process Gains

Fort Magsaysay, Nueva Ecija - The Armed Forces of the Philippines Peace and Development Office (AFPPDO) recently conducted onsite and online Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) Campaign to the ongoing courses of the Infantry School, Maneuver Center (P), Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), Philippine Army, Fort Ramon Magsaysay, Palayan City.

The young and vibrant junior officers of the Infantry Officer Basic Course (IOBC), Infantry Basic Officer Leadership Course 3 (IBOLC3) together with the men and women of Infantry Non-Commissioned Officer Advance Course (INCOAC), and Infantry Non-Commissioned Officer Basic Course (INCOBC) attended the IEC. A total of 224 students on physical appearance and 86 students thru video teleconferencing were recipients of the said IEC to AFP training institutions.
Peace advocates gave a half-day lecture on the government's efforts on the five (5) peace tables and the AFP’s campaign plan focusing on the Community Support Program (CSP) contributions to peace and development. The CSP engages the conflict-affected and conflict-vulnerable sectors of society to a steadfast commitment in sustaining peace and security in the area.
The team of peace advocates was led by CAPTAIN NORSAL D DIMAPORO PN(MNSA), Chief, AFP Peace and Development Office, purposely aimed to apprise the students of the IS, MC on the “significance of the primacy of the peace process and upholding the AFP’s core values – to become peace champions,”.
CAPTAIN DIMAPORO spoke to the students on the AFP's role in sustaining the peace process's successes and challenged them to embrace the AFP's basic values because "our armed forces should go beyond just having the ability and knowledge to engage in armed conflict." Instead, they must be dynamic and responsive in order to give transformative solutions toward the ultimate objective of people-centered peace and security," he stated.
The ISMC students were open to the peace advocates' message. They realized the value of peace and the role of the military in keeping it. They also emphasized their willingness to become peace champions, as peace is intuitive in building a thoughtful society that is conducive to the long-term prosperity and stability of the region.
As a result, as they become more knowledgeable about the government's various iniatives and positive impact on nation-building, they will be better able to discharge their respectable duties as public servants.
The AFPPDO peace advocates continue to live its credo that as members of the AFP, we should be "All for Peace, Peace for All" champions by talking peace, acting peace, and wearing peace all the time, as this will bring us further efforts and a reminder of the critical role of peace in nation-building.
For Peace and Development, love thy country above self.
Spread Peace. Say Peace!
